Well that Didn't Go Well..

Sometime after birth, Caroline was diagnosed with a hemangioma (it's a collection of blood vessels under her skin). She had the mark on the back of her neck, as well as a lump under the mark. It was significant in size and given the location (back of her neck), our dermatologist referred us to a pediatric cardiologist.

We went and saw Dr. James Joyce (we love him and his staff). He said most of the time they go away with age, however ones of her size won't. He recommended the use of Propranolol, which is used to treat high blood pressure. But with hemangiomas, it will essentially stop the blood vessels from growing any larger and restrict the ones already there. So we decided to take this route. She is given a very small dose everyday, 3 times a day. We go back to Dr. Joyce every 3 months to monitor her blood pressure and heart. Everything has been okay so far!

She only wanted one shoe on?? Lol
Caroline was not having it at today's appointment. She didn't want to wear the blood pressure cuff or the device to check the oxygen in her blood. However, he was pleased with how it looked and decided to level out the medicine. We go back in 4 months to check the progress again.
